Jonathon Earl Bowser, a Canadian artist of English, Scottish, French, and Sioux Indian ancestry, was born in 1962. He began drawing obsessively at age 8, painting at age 18, and graduated on the President's Honor Roll from the Alberta College of Art in 1984. His limited-edition prints and collector's plates are now represented by many galleries internationally, and his original paintings are in public and private collections across North America, Europe, and Asia - including the government collections of China and Taiwan. The artist's extensive and informative web-site receives over 1,000,000 visitors a year.

Jonathon describes his unique figurative-landscape paintings as “Mythic Naturalism.” These reverential images are an exploration of the Divinity of Beauty, and the Archetypes of Mythology - arcane motifs and symbols which are found in spiritual pictures and stories in every part of the world, in every time in history. Of his work he says:

"Mythology (spiritual belief and psychological preparation for life) is the essential, timelessly enduring soul of our hyper-dynamic world. There are universal themes found in the poetic revelation of the sacred and sublime, common threads which weave together the spiritual traditions of all peoples. The ineffable prevalence of these exactly analogous patterns - in nature and natural laws, in mathematics and geometry, in human physiology and behavior, and in our ancient Holy Books - represents a mysterious, Eternal Knowledge. Hidden deep within all our many spiritual faiths is one grand and immutable biography of humanity: a noumenal book of the origins and destiny of Life and Consciousness in the cosmos...”

Webster Galleries Editions has published 17 very successful limited-edition lithographs of Jonathon's work. Mythic Publishing has published the fine-art poster, "Song of the Hummingbird Muses". His paintings of Native-American Myths have been published and distributed world-wide by The Bradford Exchange - the world's largest trading center for collector's plates. Jonathon's most personal work - his "Mythic Naturalism" series - is published by Eureka Publishing Inc. Nine images have been published and are available now, and another 4 will be published in 2001.
